Ambreen Agha, Registered Social Worker with OCSWSSW, MSW/ Psychotherapist/IFS level 1 trained/IFIO

Ambreen brings a warm and accepting presence to her private practice. She has a gift for accepting clients exactly as they are and collaboratively working with them to discover where her clients feels stuck and how to find the next step forward to reach the clients’ goals. Ambreen values the unique strengths, qualities, and experiences that each client brings to the table. She is passionate about supporting individuals struggling with grief, trauma, depression, low self-esteem, anxiety and behavioural concerns. Ambreen’s overall counselling objective is to be present with the client in session as they build resiliency, experience healing, and acquire skills that can make the next chapter of their life meaningful. Ambreen's hobbies outside of counselling include oil painting, reading a good book, writing, gardening, and connecting with family and friends. As a Pakistani-Muslim woman, she is particularly passionate about supporting women from similar backgrounds as she understands well the cultural barriers South Asian women face in talking about mental health.

“What makes shame so dangerous is that where shame lives empathy is almost always absent.”
